Kinabalu Park

Have you gone to Kinabalu Park? I bet some of you had. Well, I think the last time I visited this place was in 2013. I made a recent visit to this place in early October 2016 and noticed there is a bit changes made on this place. The very distinguish one is the Earthquake memorial statue.

In memory of the deceased during the earthquake that happened in June 2015.

The entrance signboard don't change much.

The mountainous view is great and mesmerize.

Enchanting view.

Cloudy mountain.

This is the starting point to climb the Mt. Kinabalu.

Climbathon winner list. Apparently they have this kind of event where you can participate in climbing the Mt. Kinabalu and get your name listed there.

Thanks for reading.

Desa Cattle Dairy Farm

Desa Cattle Dairy Farm is located in Mesilau, Kundasang, Ranau which took around 2 - 3 hours travel (by car) from Kota Kinabalu.

Source: Google map
As you are aware, this place is quite famous for the green scenery and is often called as "Sabah's New Zealand". Why? Umm....I think it is due to the green scenery and the dairy cows that mimics those in New Zealand.

The big 'dairy cow' stone statue near the entrance.

The building where you can buy dairy products i.e. fresh cheese, icecream, milk, etc.

The outstanding view.

Mountain view is covered by the heavy grey cloud T.T the weather is a bit cloudy that time.

The green field where the dairy cows is placed.

Plant decoration.

Cool place, right? :D

This is a shed house where the dairy cows and white goats are kept. You can feed the animals here. The hays are sold at an affordable price.

Another shed house area for cleansing/bath of the animals.

Just want to show you the background of this place XD sorry that this jump pose is a BIG FAILED hahaha....

I have visited this place more than 3 times and never get bored of the view. Hope I will get the chance to visit more in the future.

Thanks for reading.

Kundasang War Memorial

The Kundasang War Memorial is located in Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia. It took around two (2) hours travel (by car) to Kundasang from Kota Kinabalu (the state capital of Sabah).

This place is a good visit to those who yearn to know about historical event that took place in Sabah, particularly Ranau area.

The entrance.
This historical memorial is actually dedicated to the British and Australian soldiers who died in the Sandakan POW (prisoner-of-wars) camp during their death marches to Ranau. You can obtain more information about this memorial place once you've entered the site. The details are being showcased for public information.

Origami for remembrance of the death.

The establishment of this memorial can be traced back to Major G.S. Carter DSO, a New Zealand war veteran and employee of the Shell Oil Co. (Borneo), who gave the ideas for the construction of the memorial in 1962 (Source: Lynette Ramsay Silver, Friends of Kundasang War Memorial).

This place has four interconnecting continuous areas that are connected by trail. Each area has its own concept and uniqueness.

Monument seen right after you entered the site.

The stairs to the connected garden.

The Australian Garden

The signboard looks a bit torn up

The English Rose Garden

The Borneo Garden with wild flowers of Mount Kinabalu

Sorry for the pale face T.T

The Contemplation Garden

Going up to the Contemplation Garden

Just...beautiful...

Behind the Contemplation Garden, there is an empty space where you can see Kundasang view.

Beware of the high place. Your action is at your own risk XD

Haha...ignore the face....

Even though the maintenance of this place seems to be lacked off, the view is simply amazing. I hope the site management will maintain the view and will keep on improving in the future.

The Tip of Borneo

The Tip of Borneo or also known as Tanjung Simpang Mengayau  is located in Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia. It takes around 3-4 hours travelling from Kota Kinabalu (depends on the traffic).

Source: Google Map

I've been there quite few times.  My recent visit was in October 2016, a day trip with my friends. The place looks the same; still beautiful and outstanding view. It was windy and sunny day during our trip. There, we spent time almost 3 hours just for taking photos, relaxing and chilling out.

You'll be able to see paddy growth area along the way (on the way from Kota Belud - Kota Marudu road). Don't forget to take picture with the beautiful green scenery background. With friends of mine (from left to right): Chris, Yana and me. Congratulation for getting posted in my blog! Hahahahahahaha.....

Me taking picture at the Tip of Borneo sculpture.

Magnificent views seen at the Tip of Borneo:-

If you're not on a day trip, I suggest you to stay a night there and catch out for the sunrise and sunset view. There is chalet called Tommy's Place, and I bet you'll be able to do some water activities there.

Thanks for reading.
